Slainte everyone from Westport on the west coast of Ireland.

I have been bbqing for a number of years now and has recently started smoking meats, sausage and fish.
With an abundance of fresh produce , artisan butchers and local fishermen , we are really spoilt for choice.
After watching many episodes of 'Diners Drive ins and dives' I tried pulled pork.
I bought a few books on the subject and I have come to respect the amount of work and preperation that goes into preparing and smoking food.

Welcome aboard, vecchiobob!  There is a barbecue enthusiast there in Connemara at the Irish Kitchen Garden that helped me along considerably in the process of making  my own barbecue sauce for use. Several years ago I came across Tyrconnell whiskey. The best in my opinion.

Barbecuing and smoking is an art that does require a lot of effort but sure does taste good. I enjoy doing it just about as much as eating the final product. There's no end to the experiences you'll have with this hobby. Look forward to seeing some your cooks!

Vecchiobob, hello! My family hails from somewhere in County Antrim.

Just wondering if the propane valves there are the same, or compatable with ones in the US? For the most part, we are not on the metric system, remember. Something to consider.

Have fun in NYC!

Mike
