Thanks! If you get a chance go for it - I spent a couple years piecing my shop together as I saved up the money & found deals on equipment. It seemed like it was taking forever but it was well worth it & I really enjoy working in my shop. I enjoy the smells of wood as I am working with it too - especially when you plane some sassafras! The whole shop smells great for a long time...

Man...You do great work...

I know how long it takes to do that kind of quality work..

I just sanded and polyed a piece of cypress I got from one of my neighbors..he has one of those giant Wood Mizer mills and cuts cypress at his farm..I can usually get chunks for next to nothing...

I just got these 2 pieces for 10 bucks..gonna put my growing orchid collection on them...

Thank you Craig. A lot of people have no idea what is involved with quality woodworking. It doesn't happen in the blink of an eye & it doesn't happen by itself LOL.

That's some nice looking wood you have there.

There isn't any cypress around here & I've never had the chance to work with it - what's it like?

I am not a woodworker by any means..I sanded it with a borrowed belt sander... it needs some 220 and more poly.

It sands easily. I have several more pieces..including a 4 foot section of trunk thats been cut in half vertically.

The cypress here is amazing...it is a conifer but is grouped and manufactured as a hardwood.

When I retired from my job I sold 7 tool boxes full of tools of the trade, including many specialty and homemade tools. (an HD mechanic)

So I know about tools and what it takes to have an excellent finished product..

Thanks for bumping this up. I hadn't seen it before, nice work Jerremy. The fiancee has quite the list of wood projects for me. Wish I still had my shop. It's a real pita having to move the equipment every time I want to make a cut!

I'm hoping to start making things again soon - everybody is still worried about me bumping my neck/head, lifting things etc.

I bet that would be a pain! & whatever you needed to use would probably always be in the very back

Hahaha! Yeah when my cousin had his accident it was a longtime before they'd clear him for anything. Right now he just returned from running an all day tuna trip! He's working on getting his masters license (required to run passenger vessels, and other commercial vessels). If they allow it he'll be the first paraplegic to hold a masters license.

And finally, I built a pair of Tuba 30 horn loaded subwoofer enclosures then V coupled & corner loaded them.

The results were great! I have NO TROUBLE hearing my music over my machines & through my ear muffs now

This setup gives a serious chest pounding & I can quite literally shake the concrete floor when I crank it up. It's great for parties now too

I'm just about getting around good enough now to be able to again - shouldn't be too much longer hopefully. & yeah the setup I put together will make your ears bleed if I crank it up - it's great!
