I live in Australia, which means I gotta go a long way to find good smoked meat. My few experiences with it have convinced me to buy a smoker in the future, so any and all tips at that point will be eagerly soaked up :D

I make a habit of collecting recipes and either expanding on them, or throwing them out and just tossing a little of this and that together and hoping it turns out well. I'm looking forward to sharing smoking experiences with everyone else.

Chris.

I'm in south-east Queensland.

I've had a look around mistygully.com, it's good stuff. Bought a bottle of liquid smoke from them ages ago which has spiced up many a barbecue sauce.

HI! and thanks for the welcome! I live in SW Florida and have CharBroil with a fire box, I had a great first smoke this weekend and am anxious for advice and recipies.

Welcome!  Good luck on your efforts.

A simple idea is to TAKE NOTES of time, temperature, conditions, and get to know your specific smoker's "personality".  Also, take notes as to the recipes you like, and changes made and whether you like or dislike the results.

I have made some great recipes, and the difference between success and failure can be small.  The notes have saved me several times.

Either way, get a good smoker and enjoy!

Welcome Chris! It's always good to have forum friends on the other side of the world. That way there's always someone on the forum to talk to during those long all-night brisket smokes.

Glad to have you aboard. Take care!
