Hi everyone! I am fairly new at smoking meat. I have smoked a 6lb brisket that turned out awesome and a 9 lb pork loin that made some of the best green chili I have ever eaten. At that same time i smoked some garlic infused milk and made mashed potatoes, a trick that i saw on chopped that turned out some delicious potatoes. I then smoked 25 lbs of brisket for my wedding along with my own homemade bbq sauce, coleslaw, and potato salad. (Note to self...don't be the caterer and the groom...) I borrowed a friends brinkman electric smoker and it worked well. However, my wife just bought me a masterbuilt electric smoker with a digital temperature gauge. I am very excited to try it out. I've been making my own jerky in a dehydrator for years but can't wait to smoke some, as well as cheese, bacon, and a couple of turkeys for thanksgiving. I've also recently started making my own sausage, and look forward to smoking some as well. I look forward to the next few weeks of experimentation!
