I am brand new to smoking, started this summer after trying smoked pork at a friends house.  I am addicted to it!  I am in Ohio and not shutting down the smoker for the winter.  Due to my newness to the art, I purchased the Master Forge Propane/Charcoal combo smoker.  I really like it but feel that I do want to step up to the big boy smoker at some point.

Greetings and Hello from your neighbor in the mitten to the north. Boy do we all know what you mean when you say that you "started this summer after trying smoked pork at a friends house. I am addicted to it!" I helped my uncle once and have been hooked like a crack-addict ever since.

Sounds like you got a decent starter smoker with good options. Learn, play, experiment, and have fun with that one, and take the next leap whenever your comfortable. As always, we're all here to help eachother. So holler with any questions.

Ryan welcome to SMF, Most helpful place you can find.  I built a plywood smoker that would hold up better in the snow, so that I can continue smoking in MI during the winter.  Oldschool should be on shortly, he can be a great resource for you. (He is use to Ohio weather)
