Got the ad for Schnucks this week.
butts for $.99lbs limit 3.
Got me 3 of them each just little over 10lbs apiece.
Going back tonight for 3 more.
What kind of sausage will I make this weekend ?

Yep going to get me some this week as well. Its pretty sweet, my mother in law is a meat wrapper at shopnsave and my father in law is a butcher at schnucks so i get the best of both worlds lol.

So far the plan is grinding 10lbs and making 10 1lbs bags to freeze to make fatties out of .
Make some Andouille.
Make some Mexican chorizo. Ring bologna . Sweet italian sausage.
That the plan so far. Will see how much that changes by the weekend

That's awesome. It went on sale here this week at $1.19 a pound and I thought it was a steal lol. I just chopped up 2 of them and seasoned last night to make andouille tonight. Planning on smoking it Saturday morning.

3 more butts !!!!!!! Think I might just have to keep her around.

So Saturday 3 of them going in the smoker for Pulled Pork.

2 for us and one will go to my Daughter at college.

Got the other 3 in the freezer.

Now just got to figure out how much sausage I want to make this weekend.

Going to be a fun weekend

I haven't seen that price for a couple of years.

We do have some on sale here this week for $1.38.  I will get a few.  Regular price here is $1.99/LB.

Can you freeze pork butts,thaw and make sausage,and then refreeze?
