I have recently perchased a smoker that has a wood fire box and also has a gas element in it for hot cooking like hamburger and hot dogs.   My question is this,  If I use the gas element for football game and church will it leave a bad taste on the meat when I want to use wood?  I have only used wood and never gas.  Thanks

Thanks for the info.  I was worried because I have never used gas in my life to cook with, always lump charcol.  I do a lot of cometitions and didn't want to impart a bad taste on the shoulders, brisket, and ribs.  Thanks again.
