I just bought a 30" Masterbuilt smoker, and attempting to season the unit per the tech manual included.   Every time it starts to heat it will run for exactly 3 minutes and then display an error code, "EEAF".  The temperature display reads 32F during the entire process.  I open the unit, and the heater were definately on.   Any help?

I got teh same error message when I got my unit. This is a common heating problem. You should call customer service. They had me try a few tricks. When none worked, customer service sent me a new heating unit.

Again, if you search that code on this site, you'l see that it's quite common.

Thanks for your help, I called Masterbuilt and they told me exactly what you did.  Got a new one today and it is working perfectly

Glad you seem to have found the resolution. I have the same unit and they were real good with guidance. You will also, fid that there is a way to rest the controller which may save you some weekend! Good Luck - Grampysbest

Place a small pot of hot water in the smoker to get it going. This will raise the internal temperature of the smoker. then reset the control and start again.
