Hello-

Newbie to the forum, but life long lover of all things cooked low and slow.  I've been smoking for a few years now.  A buddy of mine got me hooked when he gave me some pork shoulder he smoked on his electric bullet smoker.  It was better than anything I had ever had.  It didn't take long until I had my own.  That only lasted about a year and I burned out the heating element.  I inherited my dad's smoker which was a cabinet LP smoker that us kids gave him one year for Father's Day.  This is what I am currently using.

About a year ago, I competed in my first KCBS event that was held in my home town.  I loved it!!!  Ever since then, I've been designing the "perfect" smoker that burns (homemade) lump charcoal.  The biggest problem I am running into is financing the build because to do it right, it would really require a new welder, torch, plasma cutter.....  The wife but a huge stop on those plans.  I think it would be cheaper to just go ahead and buy a big green egg with a wireless pit controller...  Maybe some day.

I've been lurking around the site for awhile, and finally thought I should introduce myself.  From what I have seen so far, this is a great forum.
