Hate to revive an older thread but I too am a Daytonian that just joined the site. Nice to know there are a bunch of smokers around! Do you guys have a favorite local butcher/deli that you get your meat from? I have been smoking for a little over a year now, about every other weekend or more. Have a char griller duo with the side firebox. Its becoming an addiction.

Glad to be here. Jeffs site got me started smoking. I have used most of all of his posted recipes. Ive been browsing the forums for a while, getting tips and tricks but decided to join after I saw fellow Daytonians posting on here. So what are we smoking today? I got a 1.5lb slab of Steelhead Trout from the local fish market. Its brining now and should be on the smoker by 1pm. Cant wait!

Just joined, I have been smoking with Jeff's help for a few years. My son owned a BBQ restaurant here in Tennessee and helped me with the basics. i got more exotic with Jeff's help. I look forward to more!

I hate to revive to an old thread, but i too live in the Dayton area and have been looking for a good butcher for a couple of years now and have not had any luck. Just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations?
