Anyone try the jack Daniels wood chips. Any idea on what it's best for. Great on steaks. Trying chicken breast wrap with bacon. Stuff with mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese with few dice green peppers. Hour n half to go.

Now that sounds good!  Don't forget the Q-view!  While you're waiting, please update your profile with your location. We just like to know what area people are from.

Those wood chips are made from the barrels which are made from oak.  I would think anything you would use oak for (which is a lot of stuff) would be appropriate with some added malted whisky flavor!  I've heard used scotch barrels are highly sought after for smoking fish but I've never ran across anyone whom actually used it.

I use the JD Bourbon Oak Barrel chips and we love them. Not strong like hickory or mesquite. I have used them on my smoked deviled eggs (which we have decided is the only wood to use for these), cheese, bacon, pork, chicken and ABTs. Even got some blocks and briquettes for the grill and used this for steak.
