well i did a big butt on my grill over indirect heat when i first got my a maze n pellet smoker that turned out as good as a smoked one. it took 5 hrs.
well tonight i had chops thawed and decided to toss them on the grill the same way. indirect heat. the right burner on high with the pellet smoker in the middle. 1 side full of oak pellets. the chops on the far side away from heat. i spritzed them with a commercial steak seasoning. they went on at 8pm. wife got off work at 10pm so late supper. they were at 250 degrees. they were flipped a couple times. the pellet smoker again was working wonderful.
the pellets lasted right at the time they looked good and done. was beginning to get a bark. i slathered them with a bit of BBQ and let them down to the flame to sear for just a couple min to lock the sauce on.
ok looks like grilled pork chops. nothing to be excited about right????? well thats skin deep. look at this.
smoke ring. this thing is awesome. im so glad that i was able to get it with pride on winning a throwdown. i got to order me some pellets. this will be used about every time i grill. these smelled like slow smoked BBQ ribs. i was shocked at the pink ring i seen when i cut into these. i first thought they belonged in grilled pork. NNAAAAA! these earned thier spot in the smoked pork with the ring and smell.
thanks again for the prize. its got a spot on the shelf all to its own.
