Decided to try my first butts iin my new MES 40 today. I wasn't crazy about the cuts the grocer had but it was the only show in town. Rubbed them last night with Jeff's rub and got them on the smoker at 8:00am with the AMNPS loaded with hickory and maple. Got to say this is my first use of the AMNPS and it is incredible! There is currently the sweetest smelling smoke ever coming out the vent. Going to be a great day on the high desert. Got pork in the smoker, cold Henry's in the fridge, and my big bro coming to visit. Don't get any better than that!

In the MES ready to start

After 2 hours

More to come. When I spritzed at 2 hours the AMNPS had burned about 3/4 of a row. Does that sound about right?

I didn't get any pre foiling shots, but I foiled at 170, and took it to 204. I didn't experience a stall, probably because the roasts were so thin. Here is a out of the smoker and my sister pulling shot. Very moist and tender.

Thanks Dave

We had plenty left over, will make some great sammies and smoked pork enchiladas. Have you tried Henry's Northwest Wheat?
