I'm new here. Been reading this forum and getting Jeffs newsletter for a couple years now.

I am close to completing a brick smoker.  There's not a lot of research out there on how to do this.  I first built my outdoor fireplace for my coals.  I'm almost done with the smoker.  I lack the flue liner and bricking  the exterior up.  The inside is firebrick.  I'm pretty proud of how it is turning out.  My question to the many folks here is.  Is there a wireless oven thermometer that I can use for this smoker? Also is there a wireless meat thermometer on the market that anyone knows of?  I don't want to have to have wires running out the door, or have to drill to put the thermometer wires in the sides.

I have taken step by step photos of this project.  If I knew how I'd post them somewhere for everyone to use.  My brother built the damper system at the top.  The flue sits on top of it.  Its a simple slide damper.

The smoker I've been using for many years is a simple Char-Griller with side box.

Thanks for any help anyone has

Wes

Howdy, Wes!

Like Dave said, we really like pics. In fact . . .
:worthless

That's how much we like 'em.

If you have problems, tell us specifically what they are and we'll try to help.

Thanks,  The brick are dirty.  They been packed up for about 15 years.  They came from our 108 year old house chimney.    I found the answer to my questions in the forum.   I was hoping to not have to run wires.
