Hi everyone!
I'm a new member from San Jose, CA. I'm brand new to smoking my own meats. I've loved eating it for years and years but never tried to do it myself. I've now decided there's no time like the present to get started! I'm hoping to learn a lot from this forum, and it sure looks like I've come to the right place!
I live in an apartment where gas and charcoal are not allowed and electric is my only option. That sucks but it's better than nothing, right? I found the forum while searching for reviews of the smoker I was looking at which is the Master Forge EBC1102L Electric Dome smoker. But now I see the Masterbuilt MES 30 seems to be a much more popular electric smoker here.
I'd love some advise on what direction would be better for a total newbie like myself in regards to equipment. There is a pretty big difference in price between the two ($79 for the Master Forge vs $270 for the MES 30), but I am a believer in do it right the first time and you'll be better off in the end so if the MES 30 is the way to go, I'm fine with that.
So, any oppinions are welcome. Thanks in advance and I'm really looking forward to learning from you guys :)
Kevin
