Hello fellow meat-eaters,
My name is Bryan and I'm originally from NC. Currently, I'm living in Virginia near Blacksburg. I found this site by searching for a jerky marinade for a London broil. SMF was second from the top on Google. As I was in Food Lion this morning, the meat dept. was marking down the items that expire today. I should have waited around a little longer but was pressed for time. However, it seems that between 0900 and 1000 hrs is the perfect time to get the best deals on their meat before many customers come in. I'll have to remember that.
I am fairly new to smoking which started a couple of years ago after a trip to Busch Garden's Williamsburg, VA. The smells coming from Trappers Smokehouse hooked me immediately. (It smelled much better than it tasted. I knew I could do better) That Christmas I received a Brinkmann Smoke'N Grill which is still brand new in it's box. I never got around to making the necessary modifications that many advised. Besides, I wanted more room so I have a Masterbuilt 30" Electric Smoker. I also enjoy using my Nesco 700-watt dehydrator mainly for making jerky from ground beef & turkey. Jerky makes great gifts!! After a 24 hr. soak, I will try making London broil jerky for the first time in my smoker. Wish me luck.
So far, SMF seems like a great site. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can and maybe one day, pass on my knowledge to others.
See ya around the forums,
Bryan
