I make a lot of venison summer sausage and have tried a lot of different mixes and made my own but we (family) really like the High Mountain Seasonings and even add some high temp cheese to them as well

However I have tried several times to make the beef sticks and they just do not turn out too good

Not bad but just like they do not have any taste

They are very simple to make and I only do 1 lb at a time and so far I have tried mandarin teriyaki blend and pepperoni stick blend and while they are ok they just do not have as strong of a taste as we would like

I am thinking about doubling the amount of spice per lb to see if that makes a difference

Anyone else ever use these kits

Using venison ground beef that has bacon fat added when processed

i have used high mountain and like you, my pepperoni sticks were very tasteless. i found i like LEM spicy stick mix way better                              Rich

I aint never liked HM

Why dont you try Hi Country. They are pretty good. Just google them, no relation to HM.

Thanks, I will try the others

Thought it was just me, we love the summer sausage kits from them though
