Potatos and onions on the bottom, chicken thighs and 1/2 stick of butter and a little bacon grease cooked through first round of coals. Added carrots and corn when the coals were changed. It came out awesome, the chicken was cooked to perfection the skin was nice and crispy and the vegtables were incredible. Don't know the exact cook time just two rounds of kingsford coals. We just bought this camp chef DO and needed a test run after 20+ yrs since last cooking with a dutch oven.

We have a camping trip to Yellowstone in early august and just want my kids to experience real camp cooking like I did as a kid. Can't wait

Sam, that DO chicken looks great.  At my house, I find that I need to change out my briquettes every 45-50 minutes.

The dish and teaching the kids are both outstanding.

Yellowstone is absolutely awesome and my kids loved the 2 weeks we spent there years ago.

We still can't have a fire (wood or charcoal) in the National Forest where we camp due to burn restrictions...
