Im looking to buy a vacuum sealer.  I make my own sausage and I usually do 25 pounds at a time.  Im looking to use it to keep foods in the freezer.  Im looking for info on which one works the best, and reliable.  Thanks guys.

We have a Foodsaver Vac 550 that has served us well for a long time.

It is a rather cheap model only cost about 40 bucks.

A lot will matter how much you want to spend.

I have a FoodSaver V3020 upright type. I like it pretty good. For what I spent for it and I got a lot of bags with it I am pretty happy. I've had it for about 6 months and have used it quite a bit and haven't had any problems.

I did have some problems with the FS bags not pulling a vacuum. I bought some bags from VSU http://www.vacuumsealersunlimited.com/

and have not had a single problem with these bags. They are Great and also less expensive than the FS bags. Not to mention the customer service is Wonderful and they are a forum sponsor!

I'm on my 3rd unit now and my advice is to make sure there is an independent "Seal" button on it for starting a bag. Gave away the last one I had that was supposed to automatically hands free seal.

I have a Food Saver V2840...Highly rated and if you Google there are coupon codes and deals...JJ
