Let me start off by saying so far I really like this site/forum!

I'm Tyler live in the N Dallas area of Texas - I would consider myself intermediate and looking to better myself and share what I know with others when I can be of help. I currently use a Masterbuilt electric smoker (before I get an ear full about its electric - keep in mind my wife and I live in an apartment and at the time was allowed in the community however is no longer allowed and has been relocated to my mother in laws until we move in august) and a charcoal grill/smoker combo.  I enjoy smoking / grilling just about anything from pork, beef, chicken, fish along with all the veggies I can get my hands on. Hope to be an active member here (as much as possible), looking forward to good conversation on a hobby/lifestyle we all share.

to SMF!!! We're happy you found us! You've come to the right place, there's lot's of great people here who love to share and help each other out! Would you do us a favor and update your profile to include your location, Thanks!

Welcome to SMF Tyler-to put you at ease, rest assured we are not a purest site. We welcome smokers of all fuel types be you a watt burner, gasser, charcoal user or a stick burner.  We even have some member that have used or still use all of the fuel types-meownself included. Each has it's purpose and application, in my case it comes down to the number of ppl that I'm cooking for.

Many members here use the MES and they can share some tips and modifications with you that will have that smoker putting out some stuff.

So grab a cold one, get comfortable and read the forums-lots of great stuff to be had.

Enjoy the smoke!

Hello Tyler and welcome to SMF! Congrats on the impending move which will allow you to bring the smoker home. I too have an MES 40 and hey it's easy and I really like it.

When you get a minute would you please update your profile to include you location? It helps when answering questions etc to know where you are!

Thanks
