This came from Jeff's newsletter.  I must say that this is my new favorite burgers, and my kids too!  I think that these should be renamed Little Fatties, because they resemble a fatty so well.  I made one adaptation, I like the taste of dill pickles with burgers, so I put a dill pickle chip in with the cheese.  Also seasoned with worstishire, liquid smoke, smoked sea salt, in the meat, and the bacon is a bourbon smoked bacon.

Looks tasty -- did you smoke them or grill them

@ Husker, the pickle adds a nice touch.  I have made stuffed burgers with before, minus the bacon and the smoke, and tried the idea of the pickle.  My wife doesn't like them and wasn't excited when I mixed her pickless burger with mine oops.  I marked hers with two toothpicks this time, keeps me out of the dog house.

@Scarbelly, I smoked them for about 35-40 minutes over indirect heat of lump charcoal and mesquite chips.  Slid the grate over for about ten minutes and brushed them with some of my special BBQ sauce to crisp up the bacon.  The sauce at the end I think is a key step IMHO.
