Hey everybody, I guess I am the new guy on the block. I am not only new to the forums but to the art of smoking as well. I just recently got into smoking and have a brand new Brinkman gas cabinet smoker that was purchased with credit card points I might add. Although I did spent about $60.00 on instructional books, I like to research things before jumping in feet first. The most informative book that I purchased is "Smoking Meat: The Essential Guide to Real Barbecue" which coincidentally was where I found the information on this website. I had my first smoking adventure yesterday and to quote my wife "The food was fabulous" I made 2 sweet mesquite beer can chickens smoked with a combination of mesquite and apple wood. I have been married to the woman of my dream for 27 years and have 5 kids 2 of them are adopted from Guatemala and we are in the process of adopting another from China. My interests include motorcycles, racquetball and studying the word of God, yes I am a "Jesus Freak" and believe that all things are possible through Him. I look forward to learning from all the meat smoking professionals out there.
