Nice idea on the extention!! I have been thinking about adding to my FUDS..... How did you cut the new top part and fit it over the bottom drum? Did you have to massage the metal into submission?
yes sir we did. I cut right at the bottom of the first ring and took the oh hammers to it. Finally got got it hammered out and it fits pretty dang good. makes it nice to smoke up a few yard birds on a can.

Cool!! I have another drum just like mine at my Buddy's place. I plan on an extension for mine with the top and and use the bottom 1/3 of the drum as a grill cleaning tub with my turkey fryer burner. Did you add a 2nd rack in the extension for more capacity?
