Just found the site today and was looking it over, I thought I might as well join and get some pointers from you guys.

My name is JJ and I am from North Louisiana, I love LSU sports and enjoy discussing all types of things. I just got into smoking last year and haven't had the best of luck. I have family that makes it look easy but, I guess I'm a slow learner.

My setup is an electric smoker that I picked up last summer at Academy made by Cook Out supply company.

I've been smoking a 8 lb butt since about 10:40pm last night and only just now (17 hours) getting past 190 deg. I guess that's why it's called SLOW and low....

Anyway I am sure that I will get better each time I do something, esp with the info I've found around here.
