Just joined the form see my intro from details I used to smoke 7 - 8 years ago, made a lot of wild jerky - venison, goose, duck some bear. Kids were born got out of smoking. Only had a cheapy bullet style smoker. Last week, jump in with both feet and got back into the smoking game. A friend of mine has a Traeger Texas, he turned it on, I smelt the smoke and had to have one. Except I didnt want an electric smoker, I look at it as cheating a bit, call me an old soul. I bought a CG Smokin Pro, it was on sale at the local BBQ store. Friday, I decided was the day for the first smoking session, I grabbed 3 racks of ribs, and some chicken. Searched some rub recipies. I wanted to make my own so I could limit the msg, salt and hydrogenated products to zero. Smoked for about 5-6 hours turned out well Sorry I cant figure out how to post pics or I would have, theyd make the story so much better

I can help you with the pics.

1.  Take a pic so you can get it on your computer - and store it somewhere...maybe with your cell phone (or someone's) - then email it to yourself from your phone.

2.  Save the pic somewhere on your computer where you can find it easily.

3.  When you go to write a post here.....look just above this writing space.....there are some icon buttons.  The last section on the right (has a smiley face in it).....click on the far left one (multi-colored pic - if you hover your curser over it, it was say "Insert Image")....click on that.

4.  Click on the "Browse" button....then find the file where you saved your pic.  Click once on your pic....then click the "Open" Button.

5.  Click the "Submit" button...then wait a few seconds.

Done.

sorry for the two different posts, but thats all for now more to come in the future

my rub was

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup paprika

1 tbl sp salt

1 tbl sp cayane pepper

1 tbl sp corriander

1 tbl sp onion powder

2 chopped garlic cloves

No sauce, no foil. Meat didnt fall off but it didnt stick to the bone either.  came off clean.

I like things hot and sweet, next time. Ill add more brown sugar and maybe a hint of lime. Love my lime.
