What's the good and bad on these smokers, has anyone ever heard or seen them.

A friend is thinking about buying one.

I told him I didn't know anything about it, so I'm asking y'all experts this question.

                                   Thanks

I have a GOSM 3405BGW made by Landmann and I really like it. I had to do a few mods to get it the way I wanted it. I think it's a good smoker for the money.

See my review in the review section. I have the 3405BGW also. I've added a needle valve and ordered a cover a 4th rack from landman. The one at Walmart is the EXACT same model landman sell (I called Landman and asked) and it's way cheaper there.

The needle valve mod was done by splicing right into the LP hose. I'm able to get down below 200 if need be, and EASILY maintained 225-230 for my shoulder three weeks ago. I orginally thought the smoker box was too small, but discovered less is more. I now use 2 large chunks and a small handfull of chips when I smoke (and get about an hour out of each round of smoke).

I may add side vents but so far so good. The corners where the legs are drip a little, but I have a grill mat so no biggie.

So far, i love it.

Mine did this and I wiped some black high temp RTV on the seam where the sides meet the bottom and no more leaky!

I have had the 3605BGD and the 3405GW

I have no problems with the BGD But had to mod the 3405GW a bit (needle valve) (smoker box)

Heres a review on the 3605

from there you can click on a GOSM Big Block Blog in my review for more info.
