My first smoke ever last week (http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/123377/first-smoke-pork-butt-today-some-noob-questions-w-qview), went well, so I am trying a pork loin today.

Although this is also a 5 pound hunk 'o meat, I am anticipating a much quicker smoke since there is no bone and I am only taking it to 145.

Will also be trying the Mahogany Sauce (http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/49469/smoked-pork-loin-with-mahogany-sauce  ) although I will not be mopping with it.

Here it is right before I put it on. Rubbed down with Mustard and dry rub, let sit overnight in fridge, added more rub just now.

Wish me luck, and once again thanks to everyone on SMF for the great ideas.

J-Dub, morning.... The loin looks good enough to eat the way it is.....  I'm sure you will like it when it's done...   Dave

Turned out pretty good. Unfortunately no q-view, because my girlfriends mom had a health scare and we were kind of all over the place last night. Everything is fine now, just a scare.

Didn't get the great bark like I did with the Butt, but I guess that is to be expected with the much shorter (2.5 hr) smoke time. Pulled it out right around 145 deg, but it had to sit for a few hrs while we were running around. Still was nice and moist 3 or 4 hrs later.

The Mahogany sauce is outstanding. Would definitely recommend for pork loin.

Next week, am thinking of doing Salmon, Ribs or brisket...haven't decided yet. Will get pics this time.
