My well used black MES 30 needed a playmate.  Picked it up at Sam's and hope to get it seasoned tomorrow, I plan to have both going for a larger gathering on Saturday, butts in the 40 ribs in the 30.  Got 1 AMNPS to mess with on the way, if it's as good as advertised will probably add a 2nd.  Stand by for questions and Q-View!

Where there is an abundance of MES cookery there is an abundance of excellent Q.

Way to go on your new MES 40!

Best Q wishes.

4 butts in and the AMNPS is smoking away.  I took the chip tray and chip loader out and have the top vent full open, is this what most of you do with the AMNPS?  Temp is holding at 225 and we've got TBS so I figure it's all good!

I pull the chip tray out about 2" and I will pull the loader out 1" for about the first hour until the AMNPS really gets going then push it all the way in for the rest of the smoke. I found the AMNPS burns too fast with the loader out the entire time. I would imagine you may see the same with both removed completely...JJ

Great 1st cook with the MES 40!  4 butts 3 racks of spares everyone loved the food and I think I've got 2 friends heading to Sam's today to get their own.  Wide open was a little too much on the AMNPS, but I'll experiment with the chip loader and tray position going forward.
