Hey guys and gals!  I'm making JckDanls 07's Maple Bourbon Ham for my father, tomorrow, for Father's Day.  Hopefully, the weather holds out so I don't have to fight the rain.  I'll be posting Q-View as the process goes along.  I want to thank JckDanls 07 for the great sounding recipe.  Here she is, all pasted up and ready for bed.  More to come, tomorrow.

Good luck with weather. I was just dodging raindrops trying to grill some teriyaki chicken legs.

*Update*

Ok...the sun is out and we're rollin'!!  It's 9 AM and the MES 40 is all warmed up.  Got my new AMNPS loaded with Maple and Hickory.  I loaded just a little more than one row...figured that will get me about 3 hrs of smoke..or so.  I've got nice TBS comin' outta the vent...yeehaw!  In about an hour or so, I'll start mopping........hopefully, all goes well.  Man...sure hope Dad likes the ham.....does anyone else get nervous when they cook?  Or, is it just me......

Here she is....just getting started.  Oh...opened the loader shoot and the chip drawer about an inch for air, as I've read on here.

good luck Rich... like i said about mopping and the glaze... use a water bottle with a little hole in the cap and just squirt it on... that way the mop or brush will not wash the paste off... also on the glaze, I heat it up a little in the microwave to melt the butter.. wait'n to hear the results... as far as nerves go... I think we all get a few jitters when cooking for others... just take a couple hits of the JD and it will settle the nerves... lol

Here she is at the 3 hr mark.  IT of 106 and smoker at 240.  I've drizzled twice with the mop using the cheapo squirt bottle from Wally World.  Man, the AMNPS is the only way to fly!!!  I got about 2 1/2 hrs of beautiful TBS out of one row of pellets....I'll never load the chip tray, again!!

Ok...here's the final product.  Man, did it ever turn out, beautiful!!!  Look at that purty glaze!  I took it over to Dad's and he loves it...Mom says the glaze is too spicy for her, but the meat is great.  Knew that would happen, seeing that Mom always cooked very bland and never liked spices.  Dad took half and sent the rest home with me to share with my family....love that guy!!  I think it tastes fantastic and give all the credit to JckDanls 07!

First of all, you ain't the only one who gets nervous. My stomach is always in knots when I smoke something that folks must eat.

Secondly, that is absolutely the cleanest looking smoker I've ever seen. I don't want to show you pics of what the inside of my smoker looks like.  lol

DAMNNNN.. that looks good.. got my mouth watering... gonna have to do one of these soon.. I like running it threw the slicer for sandwiches for work... GOOD JOB Rich

Don't give me the credit... your the one who did it... Glad your dad liked it
Thanks, man......great recipe!
