So on June the 12Th I have a big red FedEx truck arrive at my house to deliver a very nice and well built pellet smoker......

I was looking around one day because I decided to give my bro in law my MES 40 due to his financial situation and what I found was 4 or 5 really nice pellet smokers. I have a few requirements in mind that they had to meet 1. It must serve a duel function as a smoker and grille. 2. It must be well built and carry a min 5 year warranty. 3. It must be able to fit into my outdoor kitchen which has not been built yet LOL. 4. It must be built in the USA.......

What I found were some great pellet smokers but in the end I decided to get a Yoder YS640 and man how I love this thing. So back to Tuesday the 12Th of June, I rolled this heavy monster to the backyard and got it put together in 5 min. I then got a cold adult beverage and sat down to the manual, well that lasted all of 5 min time for heat.

Turned the unit on after filling the hopper full of pellets and let it get to 350. This only took 15 minutes or so to get to temp and ran it for 2 hours. I then dropped the temp to 200 and added 2 pounds of cheap bacon to smoke/cook and help get the grease in the steel...

That night the wife and I decided to cook a couple of chicken breast in the grilling mode and boy it cook very well with even temps no burning and really quick.

I would say that was a success and now I needed to smoke something so off to the store at 9pm last night to get a couple of shoulders and I was in luck Kroger had them on sale for .99 a pound. I found two that are the same weight and got some rub on them.

I didnt get any final Qview of it all pulled due to some very hungry softball players and parents. The picture above looks like it has blood in it but I assure you the shoulders were done.

Thanks, it not only looks great but functions well. I Lived in Ft Walton and worked for Boeing up till 2003, you in the Air Force?
I was in the Air Force till 2009.  Now I work as a contractor on base.  Love the area though I can't find a good butcher.  Nearest I have found is 1.5 hrs away and most of the meat from him is going to be through a distributor.  So my quest for a good butcher continues.
