Hi everyone.  I have been reading the forum for a few months now. I am a Marine from High Point, NC currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA.  I have minimal smoking knowledge.  I smoked on my weber kettle about 5 times (boston butt/pulled pork).  It turned it pretty good each time.  Last week my wife purchased me a WSM 22.5 [great woman :) ]   for an early FIRST fathers day!  So I am here to learn as much as a can about smoking and also show off my beautiful smoker/wife/and meat.

to SMF!!! Sounds like you have a wonderful wife or else she just loves smoked food and wants you to smoke it for her! Glad you found us! You have come to the right place, there are a lot of great people here to help you along your journey and they just love helping and sharing their experiences. I think you are going to love this place.

Would you do us a favor and update your profile to include your location, it really helps when people offer advice, Thanks!

Cant' wait til you start showing off!

and THANKS for your service!!!

Way to go Marine!

Have a Happy Father's Day! I well remember my first (at age 42, but she's grown and gone now).

The WSM makes a great gift. Break her in right and share the Qview with us!

Last, but by no means least, Thank You! for your service to our country!

Welcome DevilDog to SMF! You came to the right place to learn, make and share some good Q! It's nice to have another Marine on board! Don't forget to include pics (Q-view) of your smokes. Good luck and enjoy!

I also kicked up a lot of dirt over there back in the day when I was with 1/9. One of these days I'll have to go back and visit. Ha....  just put my 22.5" WSM together a few days ago and I'm really looking forward to getting started. But, first I'll have to do at least one mod to it so I can use my digital thermometers.
