I've read reviews of the MES that state the door seals aren't that good because smoke leaks out there. I've only used mine twice but both times there's been no leakage of smoke anywhere; it just rises from the top vent as it's supposed to. I having a ball with this thing.

Dave, I'm cooking spareribs again in a week or so. Since I'm finally getting a handle on how to use my MES, I'll be taking pictures to upload. The first two smoking sessions were a little stressful as I was learning to use the smoker, the AMNPS, and new thermos all at the same time.

I'm using wood chips the next time I do ribs, and my wife will be making a wet rub instead of me using a dry one. It will all be pictorially documented!

I have a 30" Master build and the door leaks smoke. In the middle on top of door to half way down the right side leaks smoke. I don't get a lot of smoke.

Thanks

funkyboy--is your MES still under warranty? My one experience with their customer service was very good. I know other guys have complained about the MES door seals but so far the ones on my MES 30 are fine.

FB, morning.....  Try smoking with the top vent wide open all the time.... the door should stop leaking smoke.... vents should be open for air flow and moisture removal....  Dave
