This is my first post to the forum, I am going to be smoking spare ribs for the first time and I am looking for a good rub to use. I will be finishing them off with sauce as well. Thanks in advance.

Try this... It is Mild and compliments different style sauces well...Anything else, just ask...JJ

Mild Bubba Q Rub

1/2C Sugar in the Raw (Turbinado)

2T Sweet Paprika (Hungarian)

1T Kosher Salt

1T Chili Powder (contains some Cumin and Oregano) Ancho Chile is same without cumin, oregano etc.

1T Granulated Garlic

1T Granulated Onion

1tsp Black Pepper, more if you like

1/2tsp Grnd Allspice

Cayenne or Chipotle Pwd to taste, start with 1/2tsp and go from there.

Go over to Jeff's Recipes and pay the pittance to purchase the rub and sauce recipes from Jeff Phillips, our host here at SMF. The proceeds go to help him defray the costs of providing this place for us to hang.

While you're over there, look at his recipe pages and you will find some other recipes for free, but I can attest to how good the one is that you buy.
