looking for options to give a try. I will wind up doing both of these soon but i want to keep an eye on sales and take advantage of good meat to smoke.

i never sure of some of the names of cuts so it's difficult to search the forum. I'm open all ideas.

Dewetha , any Beef is Fodder for BBQ. Try Short Ribs , Chuck Roast , Ox-tail (for soups) , Arm Roast (any decent size Chunk) , Clods ,Heart , Tripe (before making Menudo)...use your imagination.

I suggest(IMHO) you start with inexpensive meat such as Chicken and get good with that , then step up to a higher priced meat...

Just a suggestion...

Have fun and...

Top Butt (Sirloin), Tri-Tip, Flank Steak, Eye Round...The key is to go to Med/Rare, Medium tops! Beyond that stick to Chuck or Brisket if you have to have well done...JJ

Yea, I think you can do just about anything if you cook it properly.  I did a bottom round last weekend and it was delicious,  just slice it thin and use it for sandwiches.  Tastes just like Roast Beef!

Burgers! Smoked burger patties rock. In fact, I'm throwing some on with the brisket for lunch today. Pics in my thread when I do.

- Cheers
