Hello all I've done plenty of grilling over the years and love meat. About 2 months ago I finally broke down & bought a Weber Smokey Mountain.  I'm incredibly lucky to have harvested a car trunk load of wild cherry from our family property. I also bought the Maverick Redi Check ET-732, seems like a neccessity for the smoker. So far I smoked a whole chicken along with 2 whole breasts. Those turned out ok. Today I am doing a pork shoulder using the Renowned Mr. Brown recipe from the book Smoke and Spice. Was going to attach a picture of my setup but don't see a place to attach a pic.

Welcome. Smoke and Spice is a great book. I have used, and still use, several recipes in that book.

WELCOME!  I'm over in Darboy and new to the forum too.  If you find out any secret/great tricks, local supplies (I know Cedar Creek up on Northland/ HWY OO will custom cut and has harder to find cuts) or just want to shoot the breeze, send me a message!

Welcome! I'm a Cheese Head by birth - born on Trout Lake near Woodruf - left when I was a year old to sunny San Diego. Dad got tired of the blizzards I guess.

Lots of great people and fantastic info on this forum.

Thank you all for the Welcome!

pgareau, it is so wonderful to see someone so close to home on these forums.

Baja, San Diego is a terrific place. I have visited there and over some of these cold winters have considered moving to all that sunshine!
