Is there any reason NOT to use my AMNPS in the mini-WSM I built?

There is not enough room in the fire chamber for charcoal AND the AMNPS; so I thought I might just light the pellets and place it on the diffuser at the bottom of the smoke chamber after it gets going. Has anyone ever done this?

I'm gonna give it a try, but I'm afraid that it will be oxygen starved and the pellets will not continue to burn. I'll report back if no one else answers my DA question.

I would try it. That close to the fire and in a small unit there is three possibilities...1) Works fine. 2) Goes out, fire eats all available Oxygen. 3) The whole AMNPS full of Pellets burst into flames from being that close to the Hot Coals...Good luck...JJ
