I was born in Texas and moved to the foothills of the Cascades in Washington as a teenager. Started out smoking fresh caught salmon and now deep into brisket and pork butt. I have plans to build an insulated reverse flow offset using my welding experience as a previous shipyard fitter, (now industrial electrician). Originally used electric smoker then piped it into my gas grill and used the indirect method for many a brisket and pork butt. Only one failure so far, and one competition resulting first place brisket chilli against 17 teams

(toot toot). For now I am using vertical stackable smoker and am preparing for the stickburner. Glad to be part of the team here.
