I took my front grill off my fridge. I know nothing about refrigeration. A friend told me the start up capacitor is bad and not giving enough voltage to the compressor?

Any of you who know about this stuff care to help out.

Is this where i need to replace the capacitor? The box with the wires going into it.

Just don't stand in a puddle of water when you do it. Volts don't kill people, amps do. That is all I have to offer.

Yes , that is the capacitor for the compressor and stores electricity to turn it over  on start up. It is also a great way to get hurt if you do not know about electricity and that a capacitor needs to be discharged by taking an insulated screwdriver across the two terminals. Even if the unit is unplugged from the wall receptacle the capacitor is still charged and can really hurt if you are on damp concrete or around moisture. We need you around as our charcuterie  mentor so please be careful!!!
