I was just rereading the instruction for my Master Forge charcoal smoker and it states to place charcoal, lump charcoal or wood in the pan.  My question is, is it possible to use wood in this smoker, and how should I use it.

I would place wood chunks in the pan & cover with unlit charcoal, then add 20 lit briquittes on top.
This type of smoker doesn't work well with wood logs as its main source of fuel, the wood is used for flavoring
