New from Missouri

First off "Great site", and I can't wait to get smokin.  I've been in the Air Force for going on 21 years.  Still enjoy it, so I'll stick around for a few more years.  Side interests involve being a volunteer firefighter, flying radio control planes (warbirds) and playing ice hockey.  I am new to the smokin world.

For the time being I plan on keeping it simple.  I am the current caretaker for our squadrons La Caja China.  I can't say enough good things about this cooker.  To date, I haven't actually smoked anything with it but I still think the flavors that are produced with this box are to die for.  It is by far my favorite cooker ever.

I recently found a BBQ joint that blew me away with the awesome smoke flavor of the meat.  That piqued my interest and started me on a search that led me to Todd's A-Mazing Smoker.  That along with P. Perkins successful tests using it with a La Caja China and I am ready to try my hand at smoking.

I can't wait to see how this smoker compliments Roberto's magic box.  I am sure I'll learn more from this forum and will share my results.

Ok, I currently reside near Whiteman Air Force base. It is about 45 min east of KC and 3 hours west of St Louis. The BBQ place that I've fallen in love with is Porkeys Blazin BBQ. Been 3 times in the last month. Cash or check only so be prepared.

Welcome! This is a great place to learn.  It sounds like we will be doing some learning from you as well.  I am hoping to sample some food from one of those famed cookers someday.  I have only heard great things about them.
