Just joined.. My name is Steve, I live in Guilfford Lake, Ohio and I love smoking and grilling. I am interested in buying a vertical wood/carcoal smoker just looking for some input or sugestions. I do alot of weekend cooking for friends, looking for something portable and large enough to do 3 to 4 poork butts or a few 14 to 61 lb turkeys. I am also open to any homemade ideas.

                                                                                     Thank You

Welcome - as for the rig you're interested in - the reviews here are great - i spent a couple weeks just reading reviews on different rigs that i was interested in before deciding on mine.  Guess the best way to go about it is to set your budget and find the options within that price range - thats what i did

Welcome to SMF Steve!

Would you do us a favor & update your profile info to include your location. Thanks!

Holy cow is there really a 61 pound turkey available?  I have a nephew that doesn't weigh that much yet!!!

I have seen some verticle smokers made from propane tanks monuted on a trailer, and they worked well.  Check the search feature, there might be information available.

Good luck, and you might just teach us a thing or three!
