Smoking in the Chicago burbs

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Brian, I grew up in small town rural Iowa. I am an avid outdoorsmen that enjoys Hunting and Fishing along with various other outdoor activities. I now live in St. Charles, Illinois.

I started to become interested in smoking/bbqing while living in Houston, Texas for three years. I fell in love with brisket, sausage, ribs etc. You name it and I enjoy it hahaha.

bbqing/smoking is not very common where I grew up so I was never exposed to it as a youngster, it is just in the last couple years it has piqued my interest.

Long story short, I bought a Wood Hollow gas smoker with a gift card from Christmas. I recently assembled it and have had a couple times to use it. I am certainly a novice but have seen enough people do it first hand and on TV to have a good idea of what to do.

Welcome to SMF there Brian. You like this place for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anythig to do with smoking meat. There is also a lot of killer recipes and techqunic that you will learn if you just hang out. So with said Welcome To Your New Addiction.

to SMF Brian. You have come to the right place for smoking info. This site is loaded with great info just use the search bar at top of page to find what you are looking for. Hi Brian and welcome to SMF. I also lived in Iowa as a youngster. Cedar Rapids. I live in Minneapolis now. I also, am a big hunter, especially bow hunting. I can't get enough of it. I have a bear, deer, and pheasants in the freezer.

Good looking dog...And as far as the smoker and brisket...Well it.................................
