I AM A NEW MEMBER TO THE FORUM, AND HAVE THE MASTER FORGE TWO DOOR PROPANE SMOKER AND HAVE BEEN READING POSTS ON THE MODS TO THE DOORS FOR THE LOSS OF SMOKE AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD TRIED USING THE FELT GASKETS THAT ARE ON THE BIG GREEN EGG TO SEAL THE DOORS BETTER.  I HAVE SEEN THAT A FEW HAVE USED THE ROPE GASKET FOR WOOD BURNING STOVES AND ALSO OVEN DOOR GASKETS, JUST CURIOUS IF THE FELT GASKETS WOULD WORK.

THANKS

I have the Green Egg felt gasket on mine and it works good. A large egg gasket is enough to do both doors and the smoker side.  I cut the gasket in half length wise then cut it to length for the smoker side. The door side don't need cut in half.

Check my profile for pics of it.

Forgot to mention, make sure if you have used the smoker before to use a degreaser on the surface where the felt gasket will go. I only cooked on mine a couple times before I added the gasket but I still cleaned it good and so far the gasket is not coming off.
