I have used this website over the last year as a reference and thought it was 'bout time I joined the forum. I had a custom built smoker that I lost in the May 22 tornado in Joplin. I just recently purchased a Masterbuilt XL after seeing it in BPS. I am in the process of seasoning it now and will follow up with info and pics. Happy smokin'!

First off welcome to SMF. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Thanks everyone. We did loose everything in the tornado, but came out alive. Qing is just one step closer to normalcy! I have included a pic of my block and one of the tornado.

Thx for the welcome everyone. I did not take the pic. I am smoking three racks of STL ribs today. It is my first smoke since May 22. Feels GREAT!
