What's a good thermometer that can be left sitting on the rack to measure cooking temp as opposed to one in the meat measuring food temp?

I figure the factory installed thermometer on my Rocky Mountain Series is off as most say and would like to sit something inside to be sure of the cooking temp.

Any suggestions on what to go with?

None can be left on the rack.  The heat of the rack will change the reading.

Put them above the rack where the meat will sit.

Good luck and good smoking.

I vote for the ET-732, I had the ET-73 and loved it, I am now going to order the 732 since my 73 got toasted

You could get an oven thermometer that will sit on the grate but I found they were not very accurate.

X4 - Maverick ET-732 is well worth the money, wireless, dual probe, warning if receiver is out of range, tells you when temp is too high/low, and when your meat hits your IT.  How many smokes messed up due to bad temp readings does it take to pay for it?....

I just bought a cheapo $5 Walmart oven thermo to set on the rack while I cook.  I have to open the lid to see it but it's good for a real quick check.
