my wife went to flip some smoked chicken wings and tell me honey, the door to your smoker is on the ground.......

i went out and it when she opened the door and swung it open it game off the hinges, right now the door is too hot to mess with trying to tighten it up, i just set it there and used the door clasp to hold it on,

this is the top hinge

I can't say i every seen that happen before. Looks like it may have been opened to far tweeked the hinges. Hope it is a easy fix!!

got it for fathers day after my mes30 died, so i doubt its under warranty, but i am going to take better pics and send them to them anyway

I think they have a 1 year warranty, so if it was last year, you should be covered.

Does the MES 30 power on? but just does not heat up?

They are easy to fix if that is the problem, mine just did that last week, fixed it in no time.

Your MES 40 hinge looks fixable, it sucks when things get busted. When my element in my MES 30 went out I was about 10 hrs into a Pastrami smoke.

I think even if it's out of warranty they will stand behind it. They have very good customer service.

There have been others on this forum several years back that had a door issue.  Fortunately it is rare.  If you already had one MES die and you were loyal buying a 2nd, I am fairly certain that Masterbuilt will take care of you.  It isn't uncommon for them to replace the whole unit.

update!!!!

so Masterbuilt sent me a new hinge set, and i thought that fixed it, until the next use

the door fell off again, looks like its the pin holders inside of the door that are the problem.

I wrote Masterbuilt about buying a new door and they said $30 and shipping, that may be my last hope
