Here is my new smoker. It is a Yoder YS640 pellet smoker and i absolutely love this thing!!!  I smoked my very first tritip ever on it and it came out great.  I actually cooked 2 and the picture of the meat all sliced is the first one that we ate:).  I never left the cutting board.  The whole picture is of the second one that I sliced in the meat slicer very thin for sandwiches and subs for the big game. i am so excited that I told my wife that I needed 2 smokers, one to cook on and the other to just look at:).

Thanks Jrod! They are made locally here in Wichita and I have been looking at them for quite some time now. Just finally decided to make the jump.

Though I am not a pellet head (yet), if I were, I would go with a Yoder.  I saw them at the Jack set up right across from other vendors and they look like an exceptionally well made, heavy duty unit. They look better than the competition to me.  Congratulations! ...and nice tri-tip.

Thanks Bama! For me it's a matter of time. I just don't have it to tend a fire all day or night for that matter. The end product is amazing and you are right, this thing is built like a tank.

Another YS640 owner here popping in late to the thread to say congrats to you on the Yoder and let you know the tri-tip looks great!

Thanks Mossy. Sorry for the delay as I have not been on here for quite some time. How do you like your 640? I absolutely love mine! I have already posted my gas grill on Craigslist as I haven't used it since getting my Yoder. I am actually looking at getting a 480 and setting it up for direct grilling only and using the 640 for smoking. Great product!!
