thought I would show you my latest addition to my arsenal of equipment.

I have been wanting to replace my enterprise stuffer with a more modern Stainless steel one for quite some time

what I didnt want to do was  spend a boatload  of money on one.

I wanted a 15 lb size or larger since most of the time when I am making sausage , salami, stix or the like it is a rather large batch.

anyway I kept my eye on eBay and finally scored one for a decent price. $94.00 to be exact.

it was listed as missing the stuffing tubes and the crank handle. I figured I could make a handle for little or nothing and tubes are rather inexpensive.

with the tubes I ordered I will have less that 130.00 in the whole shebang and about 2 hours work.

15# SS stuffer with steel gears.

opening out of the bottom of the stuffer is 2" so stuffing the larger salamis and bologna size stuff should be a cake walk.

cant wait to try it out next weekend. I will be sure and post some shots.

Dave, when I get home I will  take another pic or 2 and post it.

the stuffer gear had a 3/4 inch square boss where the handle connected and was threaded in the end with a 1/4 20 hole

so I took a piece of 3/4" id square tubbingI had laying around and cut it the length of the boss on the gear.

I measured the handle on my enterprise stuffer to get an idea how long to make the crank

I welded  a piece of 3/16 x 3/4 flat stock onto the square tube for the crank . I put a little offset bend in it to make sure it cleared the cylinder. drilled a hole and attached it to the gear  with a 1/4 20 SS bolt.

I used the handle from an old scew driver for the handle and attached it with a 5/16 x 3" carrage bolt and double nutted it to lock it in.

Uncle Lar, evening..... Great job.... You are a fabricator to pay attention to.... I'm sure other members will not be so hesitant to purchase "discounted" items because of missing parts....

Look out "Sale Barn Items" ....

Dave
