My friends all call me Bert and I stumbled on this forum by accident.  I was looking for recipes for stuffed jalepenos (ABT's) when I found this forum.  My wife's nephew just got back from serving in Afghanistan and is coming to dinner this weekend.  She asked him what he wanted to eat, he told her stuffed jalepenos.  Now the hard part for me is deciding which recipes to try first.  I live in northeast Texas and enjoy all kinds of cooking.  I am somewhat of a novice in the area of smoking but I have a good mentor to help me when I run into a problem.  I am not sure what brand of smoker I have but I do know it works good.  I have had success with ribs and pork butt roast.  I am really looking forward to exploring this website and learning everything I need to know about smoking meat!

Welcome aboard, Bert!

You will never go wrong with ABT's almost no matter how you make them.

Also, please thank your nephew for his service!

Good luck and good smoking.

Bert,

Welcome to the SMF party!

ABTs are great eating from the smoker and there are a number of good recipes on this forum.

When you have a chance, go on over to the Roll Call section and introduce yourself so you can get a proper SMF welcome.

Good luck,

Curt.

First off welcome to SMF there Bert. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Bert,   Welcome Aboard my fellow Texan ! They say Smoking is bad for your health. I have found that to be further from the truth. I find it very comforting watching the oh blue smoke rise from the stack of a good rig, with glass of vino or a good brewskie. Good luck on your meal this weekend for your nephew. Its for his service to this great counrty we get to enjoy the great art of smoking meat. I salute you both. "UP IN SMOKE" from Wichita Falls TX
