Hello all,

I'm brand new into the smoking thing-just ordered a camp chef 18" smoke vault.  I primarily am interested in smoking venison for snack sticks (would love a good recipe) and jerky.  I also would like to start smoking chicken and turkey breasts as I've had "gourmet smoked turkey breast" and loved it. 

Any tips you all would like to throw my way would be greatly appreciated.  Really interested in a good healthy recipe for spicy venison sticks to get me started.  I did some research about "how to" smoke them, but haven't seen a good recipe or heard where to buy a cure mix.

  There are a number of SMF folks who make those sticks, so you should be able to get help soon enough...

First off welcome to SMF there Dave. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.
